Panel - Women in Energy Transition
Women have been working in Canada’s energy industry for decades, leading emission reduction strategies, advocating for a just transition, and developing innovative technology. Yet, the energy sector is still one of the most gender inequitable industries in the country and globally. For there to be a just energy transition, the uneven societal impacts of climate change need to be addressed and Canada needs to prioritize systemic change and putting people first. The transformation of the energy sector requires a transformation of the energy workforce and the inclusion of diverse mindsets and skills.
In this panel, we will discuss strategies for systemic change in Canada’s energy industry to address these gender inequities.
