Panel Session 4 - Energy Investments for a Responsible Transition

Wednesday, 11 June
Hall D2
Panel Session
The global energy landscape is undergoing significant transformation, driven by the need for energy security, economic growth, environmental stewardship, and adherence to international agreements such as the Paris Climate Accord. Geopolitical factors further complicate this landscape, necessitating a shift from a purely global energy system to a blend of global and local solutions, each governed by varying and rapidly changing regulations at local, national, and international levels. This session will examine key questions:  Balancing complex factors within a changing environment while making capital investment decisions.  Capital Returns from oil and gas operations, while meeting the global energy demand and giving attractive returns to investors.  Examining strategic investments in low carbon technologies for a planned energy transition.  How do we foster collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and financial institutions while aligning energy investments with long-term sustainability goals across borders.
