Dr. Stephen A. Holditch Opening Plenary Session: Oil and Gas Powering a Sustainable Future

Tuesday, 6 February
Waterway Ballroom 1-8
Plenary
The world's energy needs are increasing at an exponential rate, and hydraulic fracturing is one of the techniques needed to meet the required levels. From improving hydrocarbon production and reserve recoveries to enhanced geothermal systems, hydraulic fracturing is playing and will continue to play a significant role in the overall energy mix. This year's plenary session will focus on a discussion with a cross-section of energy leaders and the outlook for hydraulic fracturing's role and applications in the future. Topics addressed will include what are the domestic and international expected needs? What role will technology improvements play in the use of hydraulic fracturing? How are we decreasing our carbon intensity and emissions and how will those efforts continue into the foreseeable future? Please join us for what should be an interesting and informative discussion on the critical need for hydraulic fracturing now and into the future.
