Umer is currently positioned as a Specialist, Geology in ADNOC Offshore- Reservoir Development Team. He is a highly resourceful and self-driven experienced professional with proven record in developing and maintaining oil and gas production in mature fields. Professionally dynamic across various functionalities, which includes reservoir characterization, 3D geological modelling, and operations geology.

He has been involved with Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) - Abu Dhabi Section as a Board member since 2016, chairing different teams such as Media & Communications, GAIA-Sustainability Program etc. and for the 2024-25 season he is chairing the Strategy Office.

Umer holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Florida International University in Miami, USA and a Master of Science in Petroleum Geosciences from Khalifa University (The Petroleum Institute) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

He is passionate about the environment and community volunteerism and devotes time to various related events.
