Organic Deposits

Thursday, 10 April
Grand Hall C
Technical Session
Organic deposits typically comprise paraffins and asphaltenes and can significantly affect well productivity to the point of shutting down crude oil production. Chemical solutions to prevent and remediate formation of these deposits are critical to maintaining the economic viability of such wells. This session includes presentations on topics ranging from the fundamentals of asphaltene formation and inhibition, mathematical modeling of the flow of waxy crude oils, and novel chemicals to remediate organic deposits.
