Dr. Badar Al Kharusi has 31 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and 4 years in the mining industry. He is currently the Petroleum Engineering Director in Petroleum Development Oman. Badar has extensive experience in petroleum engineering, integrated asset management and mining gained from work assignments in Oman, the United States and the Netherlands.

Badar served as a Board trustee for PDO pension fund, member of Board of Governors of German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), and as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Minerals Development Oman.

Badar holds a First-Class Honors Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Birmingham University, and a Masters and Doctorate degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Herriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom. He has also attended leadership training at INSEAD, Cambridge, IMD, GE Leadership Academy and Oman Royal Academy of Management.
