Vicky Gao is a geoscientist with a strong background in petrophysics, engineering, financial understanding, and business acumen. She has practical expertise in the Permian Basin, Deep Water Gulf of Mexico, Magdalena Basin, Eagle Ford, Perth Basin, and Williston Basin, gained from working with oil and gas companies ranging from startups to international oil companies (IOCs).

Since graduating with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Geology from Texas A&M University, Vicky has accumulated eight years of experience in the energy industry. She joined Shell in 2019 and completed comprehensive subsurface rotations, including roles as a wellsite operations engineer on Shell’s Deep Water Poseidon drillship, an operational geologist in Shell Permian, and a petrophysicist in Shell Permian, gaining a thorough understanding of subsurface technical deliveries.
