Rakan A. Alseghayer holds a M.Sc. in Information Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently works as a Senior Expert in R&D and Innovation at stc handling many engagements in sustainability and technology alliances and partnerships, also an active member of the Advanced Data Management Technologies (ADMTs) lab at the University of Pittsburgh. He worked on two NSF and one NIH projects, served in many committees, and known reviewer for top tier conferences in the databases and data management filed.  He managed M.Sc. students at the ADMTs lab and mentored TAs at the CS department. He worked as a Software Engineer at SAMI-AECL in the R&D department working on military and industrial projects.
