Scott Sanderson leads AWS’ global Energy & Utilities business development efforts worldwide. As the head of commercial strategy for the energy sector, he oversees business development activities and teams across the globe. With over 35 years of diverse experience in the energy industry, Scott brings a unique and diverse international perspective to his role. He began his career in the US in nuclear energy, then took on leadership positions in upstream and downstream oil and gas that expanded his expertise globally.
As a partner at Deloitte Consulting, Scott initiated the firm's international oil and gas consulting practice. In this role, he helped energy companies around the world adopt new strategies. He also spent five years advising global energy companies on cross-border mergers and acquisitions as an investment banker. Most recently, Scott directly operated several onshore and offshore oil and gas properties as an independent upstream operator. This operational experience at an international scale gives him valuable insights into challenges faced by energy companies everywhere.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Throughout his diverse global career, he has consistently driven innovation and helped energy businesses worldwide leverage new technologies to transform and succeed on the global stage. Scott and his team are working with some of the world’s leading energy companies to transform through innovation and cloud solutions.
