Yousef Alshammari
Dr. Yousef Alshammari is the President of the London College of Energy Economics, and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. He is one of the world’s top 50 global energy analysts, and an a member of the Group of Experts on Sustainable Energy at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Geneva, where he has been advising countries on better strategies for cleaner use of fossil fuels and hydrogen imports. He is often hosted on multiple TV channels including Bloomberg, Reuters, EuroNews, and AlArabia where he provides expert insight on OPEC+ and global energy markets.
Dr. Alshammari is the winner of the OPEC Best Young Energy Professional award for dedicating his career to energy research and balanced analysis while delivering a better understanding of key determinants of energy markets stability.
He was elected a Fellow of the Energy Institute in the UK in recognition of his long-term positive, distinctive, significant, and continuous contributions to the energy industry as a researcher, analyst, consultant, and a media commentator. He is also a a Chartered Scientist of the UK Science Council and a full member of the UK Institute for Science and Technology.
He taught and trained more 1500 students in Saudi Arabia and in the UK and he co-supervises PhD and MSc students in energy economics at Imperial College London.
Dr. Alshammari was a selected judge at the Oil & Gas Middle East Awards, in 2023 and 2024 in which he evaluated dozens of competitive multi-billion dollar projects and highly talented individuals from the leading energy firms in the Middle East
