Corrosion Chemicals and Materials Principal – Occidental Oil and Gas Corporation Worldwide Engineering and Operation technical support group since 2010 providing technical support to Occidental operations worldwide in corrosion management, materials selection and specifications, asset integrity, flow assurance, corrosion and chemical program development, peer reviews/assists and improvement reviews and failure analysis for operating assets and projects covering downhole, surface operation, pipelines and process plants. Prior to OXY Khlefa had 20 years with Amoco/BP and 4 years at Packer Engineering.

30 years’ experience in failure analysis, corrosion, materials selection, inspection, fitness for service, development, promotion and application of technologies that enhance asset integrity in oil and gas operation onshore and offshore including deepwater.  Currently involved in carbon capture & sequestration and geothermal energy. 

More than twenty five publications in the area of materials properties, fatigue crack growth, corrosion, failure analysis, integrity management and Oil & Gas operation.  Author of two chapters in 2017 book on hydrogen embrittlement and use of non-metallic materials in oil and gas production.  Editor of two-volume handbook on failure analysis case histories.

Active member of several AMPP (NACE International) committees currently serving on Standards Committees and past chair of the Technical Coordination Committee; TCC liaison to West Asia and Africa. Former Chairman of NACE International N-1, STG 31, TG 245, TG 492 and TEG 077X committees.  Currently serving on NACE MR-0175/ISO 15156 Maintenance Committee and served on Oversight until 2014.  Former Vice Chairman - Materials and Testing Division and Chairman of Failure Analysis committee of ASM International.
