BIO
Shin Nishimura is a distinguished professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kyushu University, Japan. With a Ph.D. from Osaka University, he has extensive experience in polymers and hydrogen exposure, having led various research teams and projects at Kyushu University and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. His work focuses on the development of high-pressure hydrogen-compatible materials and the establishment of fundamental technologies for hydrogen refueling stations. Moreover, Dr. Nishimura has been a representative leader for the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, Japan, working on the project "Development of Fundamental Technology for Low-cost and Reliable Hydrogen Refueling Stations" since April 2023. Since April 2023, he has served as the Convenor and Project Leader for ISO TC197 (Hydrogen Technologies) WG31. Additionally, he has been an expert and committee member for ISO TC197/WG22, which deals with dispensing hoses and hose assemblies since October 2014. Dr. Nishimura's contributions extend to his role as an expert in ISO TC197 SC1 AHG2, which addresses hydrogen and high hydrogen content blends pipelines, starting from July 2024.
