ATTENDING THIS WORKSHOP SUPPORTS THE E&P INDUSTRY

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs.

When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE’s energy education program Energy4me® are just a few examples of programs supported by SPE.

Format and Program

  • SPE Workshop maximizes idea exchange among attendees through brief technical presentations followed by extended Q&A periods.
  • Workshops typically span two (2) days with highly focused topics to provide attendees with practical information on the latest applications of relevant technology, illustrated with field case studies and examples.
  • Each day will consist of a morning and an afternoon technical session.
  • The technical program is planned and developed by the Workshop Program Committee, which comprises an international group of 12 to 15 subject matter experts. The program committee is led by two Co-Chairs.

Attendance

  • All attendees (including committee members and speakers) are required to register for the workshop at accorded registration rates established by SPE. Continuing Education Units (CEU) certification, and post-workshop pack.
  • The Chairs,  program committee and speakers, serve as volunteers in their work for the SPE event. SPE policy prohibits the paying of any SPE honorarium, or any travel or lodging expenses connected with committee work and/or speaking at the event.

Commercialism

  • SPE has a stated policy against use of commercial trade names, company names, or language that is commercial in tone in the abstract and presentation title, text or slides. Use of such terms will result in careful scrutiny by the Program Committee in evaluating abstracts and presentation materials.
