Ahmed El-Banbi
Ahmed is a professor of Petroleum Engineering at The American University in Cairo University where he teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in petroleum engineering in addition to running a busy research program. He assumed the responsibility of Chair of the Petroleum and Energy Engineering Department for 7 years. He has 32 years of diversified international experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering. Previously, he was a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Cairo University. Ahmed spent several years with Schlumberger where he held a variety of technical and managerial positions in 5 countries.
Ahmed holds a BS and MS degrees from Cairo University and MS and PhD degrees from Texas A&M University, all in petroleum engineering. He authored and co-authored 1 book, 2 book chapters, more than 120 journal and SPE papers, and holds 1 US patent. He has been on numerous SPE committees, chaired the program committees for two SPE conferences, and contributed as a technical reviewer for SPE journals and others.
