Message from Committee

Dear Industry Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to the Asia Pacific Decommissioning and Well P&A Symposium, scheduled for 11–12 November 2025 in the vibrant city of Perth, Australia.

Asia and the Australasian basins are at the forefront of offshore well decommissioning, deploying and qualifying cutting-edge techniques and technologies. With one of the highest densities of platform decommissioning globally, the region offers a wealth of insights, economic optimisation strategies, and regulatory collaboration learnings that benefit the entire energy sector.

The diversity of decommissioning efforts across Asia Pacific is unparalleled, spanning a range of completion sizes from small-bore to large-bore assets. Execution approaches vary widely, from decommissioning subsea drill centres operated at some of the highest day rates globally to factory platform operations featuring intricate phasing and simultaneous operations. These efforts create a poetry of lessons learnt, commercial efficiencies, and safety practices ready to be shared with the industry.

The Asia Pacific Decommissioning and Well P&A Symposium will serve as a key platform for industry leaders, subject matter experts, regulators, service and technology providers, and researchers to address challenges faced in decommissioning and well P&A projects, highlighting innovative solutions and outlining strategic approaches to navigate the financial, operational, and regulatory complexities involved.

The event provides specialised opportunities for companies and industry leaders to network with business and technical professionals, as well as to access the latest in research and technological advancements.

On behalf of the Organising Committee, we invite you to share your ideas and innovations at the leading Decommissioning and Well P&A event by submitting a paper proposal that highlights your learnings, experiences, and insights. The deadline for abstract submissions is 14 April 2025.

We look forward to your participation at this symposium in Perth!
