Efficient extraction from shale and tight oil formations

In recent years, significant progress has been made in the research, engineering technologies, development practices, and management innovations of shale and tight oil. These advancements have been pivotal in unlocking vast hydrocarbon resources previously considered inaccessible or uneconomical. Major breakthroughs in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and horizontal drilling techniques have revolutionised the industry, allowing for more efficient extraction from shale and tight oil formations.

This workshop aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, foster strategic partnerships, and share innovative solutions to address the challenges in shale and tight oil development. It will cover geological theories specific to shale and tight oil formations, cutting-edge exploration and development technologies (including advancements in marine shale extraction), and best practices in project management. The goal is to promote innovative development in these areas and support the sustainable and efficient extraction of shale and tight oil resources.
